Once you've connected your school MIS to Steplab, you can link a Steplab team to a team in your MIS so its members stay up to date automatically.

How to sync an existing team
Head to 'Manage' and then 'Teams'
Find the team you want to sync and tap 'Edit'
Toggle on 'Sync members with a team in [your MIS]'
Choose the team in your MIS you'd like to sync with, then save
A team in your MIS that's already linked to another Steplab team is labelled with the team using it
How to import teams from your MIS
If the teams you want don't exist on Steplab yet, you can create them straight from your MIS.
Head to 'Manage' and then 'Teams'
Tap 'Import from [your MIS]', below 'Create new team'
Choose the teams you'd like to import, then tap 'Import'
You can import up to 50 teams at once. Teams already linked to a Steplab team are greyed out.
Importing creates the teams, but doesn't add anyone to them yet. Tap 'Sync users' afterwards to bring their members across.
How team syncing works
Once a team is synced, Steplab updates its members overnight. You can also update it at any time by tapping 'Sync users'.
Anyone in the MIS team is added to the Steplab team, and anyone removed from the MIS team is taken out of the Steplab team on the next sync.
Steplab only adds people who already have an account in your school and are linked through your MIS. If someone is in the MIS team but isn't on Steplab yet, they won't appear in the team until they're invited. Auto-inviting can do this for you. Additionally, if a user is on Steplab but not connected to your MIS through Wonde, they won’t appear in the team.
If someone you added to the team by hand is also in the MIS team, your MIS takes over managing them from the next sync onwards.
What changes once a team is synced
While a team is synced, its members are managed by your MIS, so you can't remove them from the team on Steplab. You'll see a note explaining this wherever you'd normally remove someone, and synced members are hidden from the bulk removal tool.
To take someone out of a synced team, remove them from the team in your MIS. They'll be removed from Steplab on the next sync.
How to stop syncing a team
Head to the team's settings and toggle off 'Sync members with a team in [your MIS]'.
Everyone currently in the team stays in it — they simply become ordinary members you can add and remove yourself again.
Steplab also stops syncing a team automatically if its MIS team is deleted, or if your school's MIS connection is removed. In both cases the Steplab team and everyone in it stay exactly as they were.
